Whether you take this course in the morning or afternoon, you will benefit from an all-round General English experience. The course is open to people of all levels who want to improve their English in a communicative environment. The hours allow for lots of time to relax and explore the local London area before or after class.

Bank holidays

There will be no lessons taking place on UK Bank Holidays when the school will be closed. Fees are not pro rata for weeks where bank holidays take place

  • You will develop your range and accuracy of grammar and vocabulary to communicate with confidence.
  • Teachers will use motivating materials including digital resources and course books.

  • Regular individual tutorials with your teacher help you to achieve your learning goals.

This course is suitable for all levels and you will be placed in a class with people of a similar language level as you.

This course allows you to develop your General English skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing.

  • Use a range of formal and informal phrases and expressions   
  • Use colloquial phrases when speaking   
  • Use different strategies to negotiate meaning of unfamiliar vocabulary  
  • Express yourself in conversations with more accuracy and fluency with a wider range of grammar structures 

Listening  

  • Understand the main points of short videos or recordings 
  • Follow an extended conversation or long speech  
  • Decode the meaning of some difficult or unfamiliar language  
  • Recognise features of connected speech  

Writing  

  • Write about familiar topics using a range of grammar and vocabulary  
  • Write a range of texts in order to communicate and convey personal opinions and ideas, such as a social media / blog post or an email 

Reading  

  • Read informal texts, such as emails and articles, in order to find the key information for the correct response  
  • Use different strategies to understand a text for general meaning 

 Life Skills   

  • Confidently hold a conversation   
  • Understand how body language, pronunciation and intonation can affect meaning and understanding  
  • Understand aspects of British culture  
  • Apply study skills and strategies outside the classroom and after your course ends
