CELTA Training (full time)
CELTA training (full time) is a qualification for people learning to teach English for the first time, or for people with previous teaching experience but no formal qualification. CELTA is sometimes referred to as a TESOL certificate, TEFL teaching certificate, or ELT course.
CELTA teaches you the principles of classroom management and teaching communication skills. You will learn how to teach English as a second language through hands-on teaching practise, regular written assignments, and ongoing assessment by your trainer.
Course overview
- CELTA Training (full time) runs from Monday to Friday for four weeks (minimum 120 hours). You can choose to study in the morning (9am-4pm) or in the afternoon (11.30am-6.30pm).
- The CELTA certificate has two components of assessment: teaching practice (a total of six hours to at least two different student levels) and four written assignments. To be awarded the certificate you must pass both components.
- There are three pass grades: ‘Pass’, ‘Pass B’ and ‘Pass A’. As assessment is continuous, you will be given regular feedback on your progress.
- The maximum class size is 15 candidates.
- Applicants should be over 18 and have a level of spoken and written English that enables them to follow the course.
- CELTA is accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) at Level 4 on the National Qualifications Framework.
